Benefits of massage therapy
Massage therapy can decrease stress, lower blood pressure, soften and decrease pain in muscles, provide increased range of motion in tight joints and equally important, restore a sense of balance and well-being.
MASSAGE can calm your nervous system and release endorphins to help decrease pain and boost your mood. Circulation is improved and clients usually leave with an overall sense of calm. In other words, relaxation is therapeutic.
There are many articles online that describe the benefits of massage therapy, simply google benefits of massage therapy. The AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) is a great place to find out about the latest studies regarding massage therapy and the health benefits derived from receiving regular massage treatments.
Clients can seek both therapeutic and relaxation benefits with massage. My style is unique and is the compilation of several techniques I've been taught, in addition to my 10+ years of private practice experience.
I schedule no more than 4 hours of treatments in my office per day which allows me the energy to concentrate completely on the needs of my clients. I am available for emergency sessions for flare-ups of chronic conditions or overwhelming stress that clients feel from time-to-time. I build in time between clients so that they don't feel rushed. It is counter intuitive to massage someone into a state of deep relaxation, and then rush them off the table and out the door.
Each session begins with a short discussion to pinpoint your specific health issues and areas of pain or tension. After sharing your goals, your massage will be suited to meet your specific needs.
